Description
This picturesque trek in the Annapurna region of Nepal takes us past terraced slopes, paddy fields, and through rhododendron forests, thickly covered in moss. Rhododendron trees can be seen blooming in spring, around March-April.
The authentic villages we experience along the trek, including the traditional Gurung village of Ghandruk, provide a taste of the culture and lifestyle of ethnic people like Gurungs and Magars.
The destination and highest point of this trek is Poon Hill (3,210m), which we climb before sunrise to experience spectacular panoramic views of the snow capped mountains of the Himalayas. This viewpoint truly is a photographer’s paradise, and weather permitting, the mountains we see include Annapurna South, Annapurna I, II, III, and IV, Dhaulagiri, Lamjung Himal, Gangapurna, and Manaslu.
We end the trek at the charming and peaceful Little Paradise teahouse, beautifully located on a ridge between two mountains.
